The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) parking staff learned that a clear request for proposal (RFP) is key when finding a facility maintenance vendor.
With
many cleanings method and complicated environmental regulations, there is much
to consider when selecting a pressure washing
vendor that not only meets but exceeds, expectations. The goal was to develop
a proactive cleaning program that complied with stormwater regulations for 10 parking decks at UNCC.
The
path to selecting a competent and cost-effective pressure washer to clean
the
8,900 spaces took one year longer than expected. After the original low bidder
failed
to
meet cleaning expectations and had limited expertise in local environmental
policies, UNCC needed to reissue an RFP. Writing an effective RFP for pressure
washing is essential to get the cleaning results you want (and are paying for!)
and to avoid significant environmental fines.
